Rezonect — how to request account and data deletion

About Rezonect

Rezonect is the mobile application and service provided by Rezonect SRL (developer and data controller). This page explains how you can request deletion of your Rezonect account and associated data. Account deletion is performed entirely within the Rezonect app; this page describes the process and what happens to your data.

How to request account deletion

To permanently delete your Rezonect account and associated data, follow these steps in the Rezonect mobile app:

  1. Open the Rezonect app and go to the Profile tab (your profile).
  2. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Under Account, tap Edit Profile.
  4. Scroll to the Account & Security section and tap Delete Account.
  5. On the Delete Account screen, tap Send verification code. A code will be sent to your email or phone, depending on your account.
  6. Enter the verification code, then tap Delete Forever.
  7. Confirm when prompted. Your account and the personal data we hold are then scheduled for erasure. No separate request to support is required.

Alternative: From the Profile tab, you can tap Edit on your profile picture to open Edit Profile, then scroll to Account & Security and tap Delete Account (steps 4–7 above stay the same).

What we delete

When you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the following:

  • Account data — name, username, email, phone number, date of birth
  • Profile data — profile picture, biography, profile color/gradient
  • Emotion data — current emotion, intensity, emotion history
  • Moments — text, images, videos you posted
  • Reactions — Vibe Reactions you sent or received
  • Chat data — messages, images, videos, voice messages in our systems; deletion of data held by our chat provider (GetStream) is initiated and completed per their process
  • Friend data — friend connections, friend requests, blocked users
  • Device and session data — notification tokens, last-login IP; registration IP is deleted
  • Support data — content of past communications with our support team, where applicable

What we keep (if anything)

Anonymised or aggregate data

We may retain anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer identify you (e.g. anonymised analytics). Our product analytics (Amplitude) are configured without personally identifiable information and without IP address; we do not use your account or emotion data for advertising profiling.

Legal obligations

We may retain certain data where required by law (e.g. for legal claims, regulatory compliance). Such retention will be limited to what is necessary and for the period required by law.

Retention and timing

After you request account deletion:

  • Our systems — Account and profile data, emotion data, Moments, friend data, and other personal data we hold are deleted within 30 days of your request.
  • Chat data (GetStream) — Deletion is initiated when you delete your account; completion follows our chat provider's (GetStream) process and policies. For details, see their privacy policy: getstream.io/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Backups — Data in backups may be removed in line with our backup retention; we do not use backups to restore deleted account data for purposes other than disaster recovery where legally required.
